Old Timers Wednesday Shoot and Sweating Contest Report

Old Timers Wednesday shoot and Sweating Contest Report:
Wednesday, we had a grand time shooting on the hottest day of the year so far, but it was not all that bad as we had a nice breeze blowing all day.
We shot at the Corral which is nice and open with lots of shade and with the breeze it was comfortable right up to 1200 o’clock when it became steamy.
We had SEVEN brave shooters, including Mr Vice Mayor, Bearded Wonder, his wife Miss Wonder and Daughter Little Wonder (AKA Gwendolyn, AKA Miss Busy).  Mr Vice Mayor took off a day from work and came to shoot with us and Miss Wonder shot and tried out her new guns.  She is already good with those pistols so hubby Bearded Wonder better watch out.
So is was hot, and since we are in a full moon cycle (for those of you who don’t look up at night) that combination caused the Fairies, Gremlins and Leprechauns to come out and mess up our guns.  Almost everyone had either cranky guns, broke guns, misfeeding ammo and one dummy dropped his wife’s rifle and knocked the sights out of alignment (that was yours truly).  During the shoot we had a mini-repair station at the unloading table.
Between the heat, Leprechauns and woodland fairies, no one got a clean match. Poor Tom Slick ALMOST made it but missed a small rifle target on the last stage. There was no joy for poor Tom.  (He he he, I did that, I put up the smallest target I could find).
Well, all of you missed a great fun shoot under unusual circumstances, but we all had a good time.
Keep on Shootin’
Little Fat Buddy
Congrats to our top shooters: Tom Slick, Tuckered Outlaw, and Bad Crooked Aimes!

March 28th 2018 Wednesday Shoot

Hey Everyone!

Don’t forget to join Little Fat Buddy for all the fun he has in store tomorrow, March 28th! Our “Old Codger’s Shoot” is a weekday highlight for a few of our cowboys and they’d just love to have you join them sometime, so why not tomorrow?

Also, our Vice Mayor, The Bearded Wonder, is helping to put on a “Fifth Saturday” shoot this weekend! We’ll have the Texas Star, Big Bore (lever action and single shot), a Wild Bunch stage and a few regular cowboy stages for all of you that want a little extra shooting time! Irish is even talking about eggs on strings.. I don’t know exactly, but it sounds like it could be fun, too. Besides all of this excitement, The Wonder is also planning to have hot dogs, brats, and sausages for lunch, so come on down to the Gulch and eat, shoot, and be merry! The cost for this “Fifth Saturday” shoot is $10 to help cover the aforementioned lunch.

Your Gate Code for BOTH shoots is 4550.

We hope you can come have some fun with us this week!

See y’all soon!

Upcoming Wednesday Shoot: March 25th 2018

Hey there

Everyone!

Little Fat Buddy wants to remind everyone about the Wednesday shoot that’s coming up this week, and give y’all a little enticing bit about his plans:
Howdy fellow vigilantes and shooting aficionados ,  below please see the shoot notice for the Wednesday old guys and liars contest.
“Howdy there Pardners, Buddies and Friend’s,  Its time for our March Madness Wednesday Shooting and Liars Contest.
The Contest and shoot will be held at Buzzard Gulch, this coming Wednesday, 28 March, starting at 9:30 am for the Safety Meeting, Pledge of Allegiance, and Announcements.
Being as this is a MARCH MADNESS SHOOT, all caliber SASS Approved weapons from .22 Cal to 45 Cal LC are welcome and the age requirements are lifted. So if you feel like a Buckaroo then bring your grand children’s .22 caliber guns out and shoot them.
AND, AND, in the spirit of March Madness, we will have a SPECIAL 7th STAGE for WILD BUNCH SHOOTING. Again, if you do not have an M1911A1 Auto in .45 Cal ACP, then bring any Automatic from .22 cal or 9mm etc, and we will make allowances, if you need a 1897 shot gun you can use mine.   (Lead or Frangible Bullets only please) (No Jacketed Ammo).
“Interceptor” Frangible ammo, $15 per box of 50 for 9mm,, is available at Sports World, on 41st St, between Memorial and Sheridan. You will need 2 magazines as we will shoot 10 rds, 5 in each magazine. (See note below).
NOTE:   I know little to nothing about Wild Bunch except it looks like fun, so don’t hold me to any Rules. Except Safety of course.
Post Script:  Weather.  We will shoot Rain or Shine, but if its muddy then we will shoot in the Town Square at the Bordello as that range has better drainage and I hate mud.
So I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday Morning, see ya then !!!!

We hope you’ll join him for all his fun plans! Also, stay tuned for updates about our next Work Day! I’ll be asking ladies to come out and help me decorate, update, and paint stages, as well, while the guys do some other work!
See you all soon!
