Post Review of our 6th Annual Jimmy Buffet Shoot

Hey Friends!

We had quite a bit of fun today at our annual Jimmy Buffet Shoot on our 5th Sunday! The weather treated us well, and sprinkled as we got onto the range and then it left us with a pretty beautiful day for shooting!

We even had a few visitors, and one new shooter, guest of Bad Crooked Aimes. We called him Roughneck Nineteen, but if he gets hooked, he may very well come up with his own name. 🙂 He said he had a hoot with us so we naturally invited him back anytime!

Roughneck is the husband of “Badder Crooked Aimes” who we saw last weekend!

We also got a visit from a few shooters we haven’t seen in a while; Dillard, Barr Bear, and C.B. Barr! C.B. didn’t stay to shoot the stages, but said hello!

After all the shooting was done, we enjoyed delicious hamburgers and hotdogs, courtesy of Little Fat Buddy’s cooking and Sassy Jo’s help!

It was a great day and everyone talked about how they really had a good time. So if the rain kept you away, you missed it, but maybe next time!

Also remember, September 1st is our Deadline for Ruckus in the Nations, and we’re filling up, so if you haven’t gotten your entries in, you should really think about getting yours in quick!

Anyway, Scores are on the site! See y’all next time!

Ruckus is Coming!

Boy howdy, y’all!

Time has flown by this year and we’re sitting at only 60 days until Ruckus in the Nations is here!

We’ve been working up a flurry trying to make our range awesome and pretty enough for our State Championship, and we’re pretty proud of what we’ve managed to get going so far!

With this momentous occasion having been reached (60 days until the shoot!) we figured we should let you know the theme of this year’s Ruckus:

That’s right. We’re writing stages and taking inspiration from Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall and the entire cast of Open Range. Ninety Caliber Al tells me the stages are going to be fun, fast, and furious.

But have you heard? There are only 39 days left to register!

Save your spot and come out to have a fun, great time with your buddies and fellow cowfolk. We’re looking forward to seein’ all of your smilin’ faces at Buzzard Gulch!

Click here for registration forms. See you in September!

March 28th 2018 Wednesday Shoot

Hey Everyone!

Don’t forget to join Little Fat Buddy for all the fun he has in store tomorrow, March 28th! Our “Old Codger’s Shoot” is a weekday highlight for a few of our cowboys and they’d just love to have you join them sometime, so why not tomorrow?

Also, our Vice Mayor, The Bearded Wonder, is helping to put on a “Fifth Saturday” shoot this weekend! We’ll have the Texas Star, Big Bore (lever action and single shot), a Wild Bunch stage and a few regular cowboy stages for all of you that want a little extra shooting time! Irish is even talking about eggs on strings.. I don’t know exactly, but it sounds like it could be fun, too. Besides all of this excitement, The Wonder is also planning to have hot dogs, brats, and sausages for lunch, so come on down to the Gulch and eat, shoot, and be merry! The cost for this “Fifth Saturday” shoot is $10 to help cover the aforementioned lunch.

Your Gate Code for BOTH shoots is 4550.

We hope you can come have some fun with us this week!

See y’all soon!

Upcoming Wednesday Shoot: March 25th 2018

Hey there

Everyone!

Little Fat Buddy wants to remind everyone about the Wednesday shoot that’s coming up this week, and give y’all a little enticing bit about his plans:
Howdy fellow vigilantes and shooting aficionados ,  below please see the shoot notice for the Wednesday old guys and liars contest.
“Howdy there Pardners, Buddies and Friend’s,  Its time for our March Madness Wednesday Shooting and Liars Contest.
The Contest and shoot will be held at Buzzard Gulch, this coming Wednesday, 28 March, starting at 9:30 am for the Safety Meeting, Pledge of Allegiance, and Announcements.
Being as this is a MARCH MADNESS SHOOT, all caliber SASS Approved weapons from .22 Cal to 45 Cal LC are welcome and the age requirements are lifted. So if you feel like a Buckaroo then bring your grand children’s .22 caliber guns out and shoot them.
AND, AND, in the spirit of March Madness, we will have a SPECIAL 7th STAGE for WILD BUNCH SHOOTING. Again, if you do not have an M1911A1 Auto in .45 Cal ACP, then bring any Automatic from .22 cal or 9mm etc, and we will make allowances, if you need a 1897 shot gun you can use mine.   (Lead or Frangible Bullets only please) (No Jacketed Ammo).
“Interceptor” Frangible ammo, $15 per box of 50 for 9mm,, is available at Sports World, on 41st St, between Memorial and Sheridan. You will need 2 magazines as we will shoot 10 rds, 5 in each magazine. (See note below).
NOTE:   I know little to nothing about Wild Bunch except it looks like fun, so don’t hold me to any Rules. Except Safety of course.
Post Script:  Weather.  We will shoot Rain or Shine, but if its muddy then we will shoot in the Town Square at the Bordello as that range has better drainage and I hate mud.
So I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday Morning, see ya then !!!!
Little Fat Buddy,    tednewb@aol.com,  918-625-8785
We hope you’ll join him for all his fun plans! Also, stay tuned for updates about our next Work Day! I’ll be asking ladies to come out and help me decorate, update, and paint stages, as well, while the guys do some other work!
See you all soon!

Our Shoots This Weekend, Saturday AND Sunday

Howdy everyone!

Our Valentine’s Day shoot is this Saturday, February 17th! We plan to have a few giveaways for our top shooters and what is Valentine’s without chocolate? So everyone will have at least a piece of our hearts.. chocolate hearts! 😉 Irish has told me to let y’all know we plan to set up a Mock Wild Bunch stage for after our shoot on Saturday as well! So grab three magazines for those 1911s and if you don’t have a 97 you can bring any other pump shotgun.

It will be cold morning hours this weekend (remember, we shoot both days!), so be sure to bundle up and grab those hand warmers! We’ll have the fire going and hot coffee ready to go when you get to the range! And keep this under your hats, but we’ll have a tip jar by the coffee to go to Fly and Just L (I removed them from this email and will send them a separate one without this plan!). We plan to do this multiple times throughout the year and we will give them all of the money we raise at the annual Christmas Party.

On that note, we also plan to have little extra stages throughout the year as well that will help raise more money for our two favorite cancer kicking cowboys, so watch your emails. Thanks for helping us help them.

Finally, y’all, we’ll see you on Saturday and Sunday and are looking forward to having a GREAT weekend!

January 24th Match at Buzzard Gulch

The Bearded Wonder had this to say about today’s shoot:

“We had 7 eager old guys who had a lot of fun on a beautiful day at the range.

We shot the knock down bottles at the corral 3 times. Shooting the bottles at the rifle distance separates the men from the boys. I think we all had to go back to basic marksmanship for the pistols. By the 3rd stage, we were doing much better.

Tuckered Outlaw showed us how it’s done.

So we had a great shoot on a great day.

Thanks to everyone who came out for shooting fun.”

Congrats to Tuckered Outlaw, Smokin’ Okie, and Brazos Valley Kid for taking the top three spots AND for coming out of there clean!

Scores are on the website. 🙂
